Kate Hong — a UX & visual designer who loves intuitive experiences, strategic storytelling, and people.

A few things

I’m a UX & visual designer drawn to the three things in my tagline for a reason: I think great work happens where they meet. Intuitive experiences are what good research becomes; strategic storytelling is what turns a deck of screens into a thing people remember; and people are why any of it matters in the first place.

In practice, that looks like sitting with EMTs to learn how they make stroke calls under pressure, watching designers alt-tab between Slack and Figma for the hundredth time, or rewriting a sentence twelve times until it sounds like a real human said it. I start every project with the same question: what is this person trying to do, and what’s in their way?

Outside the brief: doodles, daydreams, and a soft spot for problems that feel impossible until you talk to the person living them.
